YSI Africa preserves this 16-step concept as a technical thinking library. The current Waste Project stage is Phase 0 — Evidence & Operational Design. Phase 0 is non-thermal and is designed to determine what the waste stream, operating environment, economics, safeguards and regulatory requirements actually justify.
Conditional concepts only. This sequence does not represent equipment or facilities currently owned or operated by YSI Africa. Steps 8–14 are conditional engineering hypotheses. Any later technical pathway would require characterization, engineering, economics, emissions and environmental safeguards, regulatory approval and a legitimate use/offtake case.

The sequence is deliberately separated from the main Waste Project page so the public project proposition remains focused on Intercept → Measure → Sort → Recover → Route → Learn → Replicate.
